Cutting Paperwork with iPad’s

Cutting Down The Paperwork Thanks to Fraser Coast Regional Council.

Trauma Assist, (Wide Bay Sexual Assault Service), has been successful in their grant application to purchase technology to support community trauma recovery and their new developed Youth Assist program. Under the Fraser Coast Regional Council 2021-22 Community Grants Program – Rapid Response Round 1, the trauma service have been funded to purchase ten iPads which will see a significant streamlining in managing client questionnaires and collection of feedback.

Provision of our trauma counselling services for people impacted by abuse, sexual abuse, domestic and family violence continues, as it has for over the past twenty years, to be highly beneficial to our wider Maryborough community by decreasing critical mental health crisis points, increasing resilience in individuals and providing pathways for recovery from

Chief Executive Officer, Sandra Holebrook, reports, “We have, over the past twelve months, seen a significant and sustained increase in the number, level of risk, and complexity of presentation from all clients, and specifically young people, and we are increasing our outreach to this cohort with our new Youth Assist
program. ” (

It has now become imperative we are able to work with the youth cohort through mediums with which they are most comfortable and which include options for chat and messaging, as well as online safety planning.

Provision of iPads will increase opportunities for counsellors to deliver skills and tools easily to all clients, directly in-session. In particular, our youth, who communicate through online platforms, will benefit by incorporating apps and support in their treatment plans to solidify behavioural change.

Trauma Assist is grateful for the continued support of Fraser Coast Regional Council, and in this instance it was again able to turn to local supplier Leif Storoy and his team at AATEC Office Technology to deliver these iPads.
